Man Up & Just Shave It! What’s the Worst That Could Happen?

For all you guys out there who are toying with the idea of shaving your head for the first time, what’s stopping you? Bald Boy, the makers of Mean & Clean Shave It Cream, have been daring guys to “man up – just shave it!” for months now. They’ve even got neat T-shirts for the guys that decide to join the Bald Boy Nation, but they know there are lots of guys out there who are still afraid to take the plunge. If you’re tempted to shave off your hair – and you know you are or you wouldn’t be reading this – here’s a little thought experiment that counselors use to challenge people to take a risk. It’s called “What’s the Worst that Could Happen?”

What’s the Worst That Could Happen if You Join Bald Boy Nation?

The thought experiment is designed to make you consider the absolute worst case scenario – the worst that could happen if you make a certain choice. It makes you confront your fears and figure out if they’re really insurmountable – or if they’re just silly niggles holding you back from doing something you really want to do. So here we go – what’s the worst thing that could happen if you join the league of shaved heads?

Your Girlfriend Could Hate It

So okay, there are a few girls out there who don’t quite get the bald boy look. The overwhelming evidence, though, is that there are lots of girls that think bald heads are totally sexy. But let’s imagine for a minute that your girl isn’t one of them. Do you really think she’ll break up with you if you shave off your hair? And if she does, what does that say about your relationship? Do you really want to be hooked up with a chick that would break up with you over a few inches of hair – when there’s tons of gorgeous women out there that will love you no matter what?

And if she loves you anyway but likes your head better when it’s covered, what’s the worst that could happen? You can grow your hair back in a matter of months and be the lovable, fuzzy-headed guy she adores. No harm, no foul. So come on. Man up…just shave it and find out.

The fact of the matter is that the absolute worst that could happen if you shave your head is that someone won’t like it – including you. If that’s the case, guess what? It’s not permanent! You can always go back.

And you could find out that the bald boy look is completely you. Your girlfriend will love it. Your boss will notice you and give you a shot at that promotion you’ve been wanting. And your mother will still love you. So go on. Man up. Just shave it. What’s the worst that could happen?

Man Up… Just Shave It and Reap the Benefits of Being Big, Bad and Bald

Are you tired of messing with your hair? Do you spend too much time each day arranging your hair to hide the effects of hair loss? Do you suffer from a receding hairline, thinning hair or a bald spot? Are you tired of looking older than you are? There’s a single, easy solution to all of those problems that won’t cost you your first-born child, won’t poke holes in your scalp and won’t make you a candidate for the “OMG Did you see his rug?” club. How simple is it? Dude,  man up…just shave it!

Benefits of Shaving Your Head

Here’s a little-considered fact. Hair loss ages you. Being bald – not so much. In fact, when you get rid of that fringe of hair, bad comb-over or receding hairline, you’ll instantly look years younger. The big guys who make millions each year on hair loss remedies won’t tell you that. They want you to believe that the only way to look younger is to buy their products and services. Don’t believe me on this. Go take a look at photos of Yul Brynner, who looked nearly as young at 65 as he did at 30. How about Patrick Stewart? That man does not look 71 years old. It’s not the rich living. It’s the bald head, dude. Bald guys are ageless.

There’s something about a bald head that makes women want to run their hands over it. They’ve just got to feel that smooth, silky skin under their fingertips. You can’t beat that.

Shaving your head is perfect if you have commitment issues. Unlike a lot of those other hair loss remedies, you don’t end up with a scalp full of scars or a permanent commitment to a bad plug job. You don’t like the bald look, you just stop shaving it and your hair grows back. Seriously, what’s stopping you? Man up…just shave it! If you don’t like it, you can go back.

The right shave cream makes shaving completely painless. You don’t want to use that foamy stuff that leaves a mess on your skin or a shave gel that slides off your head in the shower. When you use a thick, clingy shaving cream like Bald Boy Clean & Mean Shave It Cream, the blade glides over your dome, and you don’t end up with a mess of sloppy foam to wipe away.

If you’ve been playing with the idea of giving Mother Nature a nudge, now’s the time to do it. Grab a razor and a tube of Bald Boy Shave Cream and man up…just shave it, and reap the benefits of being a sexy, tough, Bald Bad Boy.

Ready to Man Up & Just Shave It? Try These Tips

The decision to shave the head is an easy one for some guys. Most guys, though, struggle with the pros and cons for a while before they finally decide to take the plunge. If you’re ready to finally man up & just shave it, these tips and tricks can help you do it right the first time and every time.
Acquire the Right Equipment
You can shave your head with any razor, but the right razor makes it much easier and the right shaving cream guarantees you a smooth, silky scalp. Treat your bad boy bald look right from the very start by investing in the right equipment and having it on hand when you’re ready to take the big step. You’ll need a sharp object and a lubricating cream so the sharp object doesn’t scrape your skin up.
Most experienced Bald Boys swear by the Headblade, a razor with a clever hand-grip that’s designed especially for shaving your head as the perfect sharp object for the job. As far as the cream, you’ll want to avoid that foamy stuff or slick gel you use for your face. Foams will just slide off your head, and gels don’t do much better. Instead, pick up a tube of Bald Boy Mean & Clean Shave it Cream, a shaving cream designed to be kind to your dome. Put them in your medicine cabinet or shave kit and keep them handy so you’ll have them on hand when you’re finally ready to man up & just shave it.
Get a Buzz Cut
Don’t try shaving straight off. Even short hair is going to clog up your razor and make shaving your head harder than it needs to be. If you’ve got a set of clippers, set them to 0 and go for it. You don’t have to worry about getting it all even because you’ll be shaving anything that’s left off anyway. If you’re not comfortable with the clippers or don’t own a set, hit up your barber and let him go to town. The closer you get buzzed, the easier it will be to go the rest of the way.
Take a Long, Steamy Shower
Hot water opens up your pores and softens your hair – okay, stubble at this point – so  that it will shave off mean and clean with the razor. Soap up a washcloth and give your head a good scrub, rubbing against the grain to raise up your hair. Rinse and step out from under the water.
Use a Mirror
Slather up your head with Bald Boy shave cream and let it sit for a few minutes to work on your hair, then follow the instructions with the Headblade to shave down to bare, smooth skin.
Rinse and Moisturize
Don’t forget your scalp needs special care, especially at first. The skin isn’t used to being shaved or to being exposed to the elements. Finish off with moisturizer to keep your scalp smooth, soft and un-flaky.
Check the Dome in the Mirror
Enjoy the view. You are now a proud member of the Bald Boy nation. You’ve earned the right to wear the Bald Boy nation T-shirt and to lord it over all the guys that aren’t ready yet to man up & just shave it.

What You Should Know Before You Man Up…Just Shave It!

Chances are, you’ve considered shaving your head. Even though the bald boy look is touted as a great option for guys dealing with hair loss, most guys – even those with a great head of hair – have wondered what they’d look like with that tough guy bald skull making a fashion statement for them. The fact is that being bald by choice is associated with strength, independence and virility, partly thanks to all the pro sports stars who have adopted the shaved head look for themselves. If you’re seriously considering the plunge into baldboy badness, you could man up…just shave it and get it done or you might ease into the whole idea by shaving in stages. Either way, there are a few things to consider before you take a razor to your head for the first time.

If you’re really fashion and appearance cautious, you can get an idea of how you’ll look bald by donning a swim cap. Unless you’re hair is quite long, that will let you get a look at the shape of your skull and help you decide if you like the hairless look. Or you could have a chat with the guy that usually cuts your hair. Barbers and hair stylists have a pretty good idea of the hair styles that look good on particular people – and honestly, “bald” is just another hairstyle.

If this is the first time you’re shaving your head, there are a few serious don’ts.

Don’t do it drunk. Aside from the fact that it’s not the best time to be going at your head with a razor in your hand, you just don’t want to make a decision with such public consequences when you’re under the influence.

Don’t expect it to change your life. Shaving your head won’t change your life, just your hair. You, on the other hand, may find yourself changing as your self-confidence grows.

Don’t shave your head before a big event. The night before your wedding is not the time to adopt the bald boy look for the first time. You might also want to avoid shaving your head the night before a job interview

Now that we’ve got the don’ts out of the way, here’s how to get the best result possible on your first-time head shave.

Open Up Your Pores

Shave your head at the end of a warm shower. Your hair will be softer, your skin will be clean and your pores will be open, which helps lift the hair up for the blade. Rub a soapy washcloth over your head against the grain.

Apply a Good Shave Cream

Shaving cream is essential. It moisturizes and lubes your scalp so the blade glides without irritating and nicking. Something like Baldboy Mean & Clean Shave cream is thick enough to stay on your scalp instead of sliding into your eyes while you’re trying to shave. Let the shaving cream sit there for a few minutes to soften up the hair and get it ready for the razor.

Man Up…Just Shave It

Use a clean, sharp razor for best results. Check out the razors that are designed specifically for shaving your head, which make the job much easier. Shave with the grain, avoid applying pressure and rinse the razor often. The first time, give yourself  half an hour or so to be sure you get all the stubble. Once you get used to it, you’ll be able to shave your head and do touch-ups in five minutes or so.

A bald head makes a bold statement. It makes you part of the Bald boy Nation. Don’t be surprised if co-workers and friends confess to you that they’ve thought about going bald themselves. When they do, you can tell them to man up…just shave it! You’ve earned the right.

You Don’t Have to Man Up…Just Shave It: Easing Into The Shaved Head

The decision to shave your head isn’t always an easy one for men. We’re not sure why that is, but for some guys, deciding to go bald and beautiful is a huge step. While we like to say “man up…just shave it”, we do understand that hair is more than just that stuff on top of your head. For a lot of guys, it’s a vital part of their identity. They grow long locks to align themselves with the rockers, spike it and color it purple as a sign of rebellion or go with a careful coif to fit into the boardroom and the salesroom. Guys who have gone bald have some secrets to share with those guys who are waffling on the decision to man up & just shave it… you don’t have to do it all at once.

Okay. Before you start freaking out at visions of a patchwork bald skull, that’s not what we’re getting at here. The fact is that shaving your head all at once can be a dramatic statement – but it’s not the only way to do it. If you’re nervous about how others will view you with a shaved head or afraid of shocking those around you – or even if you’re a little uncertain about how you’ll look with a shaved head, you can ease your way into the bald boy look a little at a time.

Start by thinking of shaving your head as simply wearing a different hairstyle. Seriously, dude, that’s exactly what it is. Head shaving isn’t a permanent commitment. If you don’t like it or your wife hates it, your hair’s not gone forever. If your hair was business short to begin with, you can have your old look back in as little as 6 or 8 weeks. After that, it will have no more effect on your life than a bad haircut. That simple little head shift might be enough to convince you to man up…just shave it.

If you’re still a little leery of the whole idea, try approaching the shaved head in stages. Hit up the barber shop or get a pair of clippers with a trimming guide and get a trim to about 1-inch length. Stop there and get used to the idea. You can just give yourself a good eyeballing in the mirror and decide whether you like it or not, or you can put down the clippers and live with the short buzz for a few days. See what you think. If you hate it, no one needs to know that you originally intended to adopt the bad boy Baldboy look. Just let it grow back.

If you like it, get the clippers out again and take your hair down to stubble – kinda like a five-o’clock shadow for the scalp. There are a lot of guys out there totally rocking that look – and it will give you a good idea of how your skull will look when it’s totally bare. If you’re good with it, grab a good shaving cream – we like Baldboy Clean & Mean Shave Cream – and a Headblade and man up…just shave it!
